I bumped the dial :)

Sometimes, depending on your lights. You are able to sync at a slightly higher shutter speed. I noticed with my old canon stuff I was able to do this more.

Other times when you do it you will get a split frame from where the sensor didnt catch the light, but you can just crop it out.

Dustin,

Great shots!

How did you get a 1/320 shutter speed on the last photo?

Dustin,

Do you have a preference on Cameras Nikon D3 or Canon MKIII. Upgrading a few Canon MKIIN's and see you have used both recently. Any input is appreciated.

Wow, that third shot is amazing! The texture, movement, pose, light, sky, color treatment. It would make a sweet poster.

Can't wait to see more of your work.

I am so happy that you share your set ups. I am a portrait photographer, with a high school B-Ball player shoot next week. I have delousions of grandure, using my flashes to obtain simular shots like yours. Cant wait! Thanks so much! D3 syncs at and beyond 320, my D200 syncs at 200. Other than that, its on like ping pong.

[...] ♦ – I stopped in over at photographer Dustin Snipes’ blog yesterday to see if he had posted anything new lately. You might remember Dustin from his great guest blog at Photoshop Insider. Well, it has been some time since Dustin posted anything but I did find a great post on a shoot he did with baseball player Matt Hobgood. Not only did Dustin show some great shots, he also had images of his set up for each shot along with the equipment he used. It was very educational and I hope Dustin gets back on the blogging trail because he always has great stuff to share. You can check out Dustin’s blog here.
